Lawrence Elementary School is designated as Schoolwide Title 1 school. Updates to the most recent Parent and Guardian Involvement in Education Practices is included in the Student Handbook (Board Policy 5018)
The school district will jointly develop with parents a School-Parent-Student Compact that outlines how the parents, school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the State’s high standards. (Board Policy 5057)
At the beginning of each school year, Districts shall notify the parents of each student attending any school receiving Title I funds that the parents may request (and in a timely manner), information regarding any State or District policy regarding student participation in any assessments. §1112(e)(2)(A)
The Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 gives parents/guardians the right to request information about the professional qualifications of their child's classroom teachers. Upon request (and in a timely manner), the agency will give parents/guardians the following information about their child's teacher:
Whether the teacher has met state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction
Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or provisional teaching certificate
Is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher
Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications
