Art students of Lawrence-Nelson, once again, participated in the Eileen's Halloween Cookie Decorating Contest hosted by Eileen's Colossal Cookies in Hastings. Students who submitted designs were anxiously awaiting the results in hopes of taking home a large Eileen's Cookie with their very own design frosted on it. On Halloween, Mrs. Haba announced the winners to the students and staff. This year's results were exciting as the school brought home five cookies total. In the 10 and up age category, sophomore Riley Haba brought home 1st place, fifth grader Kallen Faimon earned 2nd place, and sixth grader Anne Mazour received 3rd place. In the 7, 8, and 9 year old category second grader Oaklyn Haba earned 2nd place and second grader Kimber Bargen took home 3rd place. All the participants made it hard for the judges, and every student created captivating designs.
Congratulations too all of the art students for all of their creative work!

Raider Family,

This is open to the community, and you do not have to be a vet to attend. Please encourage other family and friends to show up as well. If you are a veteran, make sure you RSVP to the school by calling 402-225-3371. Ask for Carlie and let her know you are planning on attending.
Monday, October 28, Shannon McCord came and talked to the Intro to Business Class. Shannon is the owner of Ideal Market in Superior. Some of the things he talked about was investment, cutting unnecessary expenses, and a community first mindset. He talked about investments–if you could make your money back in the next 5 years, it was a good investment. For example, in Ideal Market they just bought new digital shelf tags. This will save them labor and money because they will not have to go out every day and put out new shelf tags. All they have to do now is click a button. A while back, he bought new freezers to cut unnecessary power expenses. One of his main goals with his business is to put the community first. One example is carrying out bags for his customers.
